This trek is a moderate walk which follows some of the classic Everest trails and beaten tracks before heading to the quieter valley of Thame. Day 1
Arrival/ Trek Preparation

Arrive at the airport and transfer to a hotel.Stay overnight and prepare for the trek.

Day 2
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2850m), and trek to Monjo (2835m)

You will board the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. It is a very scenic mountain flight, introducing you to the ruggedly majestic terrains, serpentine rivers, waterfalls, plateaus, and snow-clad peaks of the Himalayan region.. You will pass through farmlands and several small villages of Sherpas as well as other castes and ethnicities as you walk along the Dudh Koshi river, walk over several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi and other small hamlets. As you reach Monjo for the night-stay, you will have done several ups and downs. Stay overnight.

Day 3
Trek from Monjo to Namche (3450m)

We will walk along the sandy banks Dudh Koshi river today as well, cross and re-cross it on suspension bridges. Finally we will reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi, where locals hang Buddhist prayer flags and pray as they cross the bridge. Then we need to make a steep climb for about ninety minutes to reach Namche Bazar .Stay overnight.

Day 4
Acclimatization Day at Namche

There is plenty in and around Namche to make this acclimatization day rewarding. You can visit the Namche monastery, the Sherpa Cultural Museum, or the Headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park. There are also some viewpoints within some hours’ walking distance from here if you want to treat yourself to the mountain panorama of the peaks like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam.Stay overnight.

Day 5
Trek from Namche to Thame (3700m)

The trek of the day starts from Namche, crosses the Bhote Koshi river, climbs to Thamo and finally leads to Thame. In total this is a walk of about 5 hours. Thame is an authentic Sherpa village, where you get to know Sherpa culture and lifestyle firsthandThere are plenty of mani walls, chortens, and some monasteries on the way to Thame.Stay overnight

Day 6
Trek from Thame to Khumjung (3800m)

Start the day with a climb to the hilltop over Thame where a monastery is located. All along the trail you will experience an odd, yet a perfect blend of majestic Himalayan scenery and Buddhist culture. You can walk back to Namche and move towards Khumjung. However, you can choose a path that passes over the town and heads east. The advantage in choosing this path is that you can sip a cup of tea in Everest View Hotel, located at the highest altitude in the world. The hotel offers majestic views of Ama Dablam Mountain. Then a short final descent brings you to your stopover of the day—Khumjung, a beautiful Sherpa village. Stay overnight.

Day 7
Trek from Khumjung to Phortse (3780m)

The major highlight of the day include a visit to Khumjung monastery, one of the oldest in the region. A yeti scalp is believed to be here in this monastery. The trail mostly passes through the lower slopes of Khumbila mountain, the abode of Sherpa patron god. Another important point along the way is Mong La Pass (4000m). Extraordinarily beautiful scenes greet you all through the journey. Finally you will reach Phortse, a remote settlement in Khumbu region hidden behind mountains. Stay overnight at Phortse.

Day 8
Trek from Phortse to Pangboche (3975m)

Another day of walk amidst the heavenly scenes along the deep gorge cut by a river. Fantastic views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Ama Dablam as well as Kangtewa and Thamserku make the day one of the most memorable moments of your life. The trail goes over a small pass and leads to the upper part of Pangboche where another of the oldest monasteries in the region awaits you. You will continue to Lower Pangboche, and retire yourself for the night after enjoying an exquisite sunset over Ama Dablam, Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.

Day 9
Explore around Pangboche (3975m)

This is an extra day for enjoying the breathtaking sceneries of the region. You can also choose to visit Ama Dablam Base Camp, which will consume nearly two hours for reaching and the same for returning.

Day 10
Trek to Namche

We now start to move back along the valley, cross the Imja Khola, and climb to Tenboche Gompa, where the famous Sherpa festival Mani Rimdu is held. After several ups and downs, we will finally reach Namche, where we will stop for the night.

Day 11
Trek to Phakding (2680m)

Today you will be retracing your path back to Phakding.

Day 12 and 13
Trek to Lukla, and Return to Kathmandu on a domestic flight

Day 14
International Departure

Arrive at the airport for your return.
