Annapurna is one of the most popular trek region in Nepal with some of the best trekking trail of the world. In 1950, Annapurna I ( 8091 m.) was successfully climbed by the Maurice Herzog as the first 8000 m. peak to be climbed. Annapurna then becomes the most popular adventure destination in the Himalayas.
Today, thousands of trekkers love to explore Annapurna region after Everest and Annapurna Base camp is one of the most popular trek itinerary in the region. We will be in the base of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Himchuli and Machhapuchhre as standing in a bowl shaped by the Himalayan peaks.

The trek covers the villages of Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrong, Bamboo, Himalaya, Deurali, Fishtail Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 1

Day 2

Get going, Pokhara Awaits

Kathmandu to Pokhara 

Pokhara situated 200 Km west of Nepal is a beautiful Lake city in the lap of the mighty Annapurna range of Himalayas. The drive is very scenic in the mid hill along the Trishuli river which is very famous river for rafting in Nepal till Muglin section. From Muglin we follow the Marshyangdi river which originates from Tilicho Lake and Thorong La.
Arrive Pokhara, check in to the hotel and walk around the Fewa Lake.

Day 3

Trek to Tikhedhunga ( 1577 m / 5173 ft)

Early in the morning after breakfast, drive to Nayapul to start the trek. The drive is for about an hour in the scenic road via Phedi, Naudanda, Lumle. Arrive Nayapul and start walking. Today is not very difficult day since the trail is gradual uphill along the river. There are various villages where we can stop for drink, lunch and rest.
Arrive Tikhedhunga and overnight stay in the mountain lodge.

Day 4

Trek to Ghorepani ( 2,850 m. / 9350 ft.)

Ghorepani is the most popular trek destination in Annapurna for the short trek.
Today the trail is uphill most of the time and long as well. Lunch in Banthati and walk through the rhododendron forest.


Overnight stay in the lodge in Ghorepani.


Day 5

Hike Poonhill ( 3,210 m / 10,532 ft) - Trek to Tadapani ( 2680 m. / 8792 ft. )

Early morning climb about an hour to Poon hill from the hotel. The walking must be in predawn to catch the sunrise from the top of Poonhill. This is the most popular sunrise view point in the region with most beautiful and close up view of the Himalayan peaks including Mt. Dhaulagiri ( 8167 m./ 26795 ft.) and its range, Tukuche Peak, Dhampus Peak , Annapurna South ( 7219 m. ), Himalchuli, Fishtail ( 6993 m. ) and other Annapurna Ranges from Poonhill and Sunrise the best and most impressive.

Climb down to the hotel and then after breakfast, trek to Tadapani .The trail today is mostly in the rhododendron and bamboo forest and few steep uphill and downhill. Lunch on the way. Overnight stay in Tadapani.

Day 6

Trek to Chhomrong ( 2170 m. / 7120 ft.)

First part of the trek today is steep down to the river where we cross the bridge and then walk in the sunny side of the mid hill mountain. We pass through the villages, farming fields and the trail is gradual uphill.
Chhomrong is the last big Gurung settlement of the region and located very close to the base of Annapurna South. Overnight stay in the lodge.

Day 7

Trek to Dovan ( 2,580 m./ 8464 ft.)

We climb down to the river and then after we cross the bridge the trail is steep uphilll untill Sinuwa. The view of the mid hill landscape, jungle, river valley, villages are beautiful from Sinuwa. Then, we walk in the deeper gorge in the bamboo forest without significant views of the Himalayan peaks. Lunch in Bamboo and then walk to Dovan. We can stay in Himalaya as well alternatively, depends on your stamina.

Day 8

Trek to Fishtail Base Camp ( 3,700 m. / 12139 ft. )

Trek to Machhapuchhre or Fishtail base camp. Till Deurali the trail is in the deep gorge in the bamboo forest without any good view of the Himalayan peaks. After Deurali, we enter into wider and open valley with nice view of the peaks including Fishtail.

Overnight stay in Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

Day 9

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp ( 4,130 m . / 13 545 ft.)

From Machhapuchhre base camp we climb uphill to Annapurna Base Camp. Now, we are walking in beautiful valley surrounded by the Himalayan peaks including Fishtail, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Annapurna I, Gandarbha Chuli, Tharpu Peak and other many.

The climax of the trek day is here and we ends with the magnificent view of the Annapurnas. OVernight stay in the lodge.

Day 10

Trek back to Bamboo

Enjoy the morning sunrise over the mighty himalayan peaks. You are in a bowl shaped place with 360 degree views of the Himalayan peaks. Trek back to Bamboo after breakfast. The trail follows the same way down.

Day 11

Trek to Jhinu

Trek to Chhomrong same way and the climb down steep to Jhinu. There is the hot spring in the river bank ( 15 minutes walk down in the jungle ) if you want to explore and enjoy depending upon your arrival time.

Day 12

Trek to Tolka

From Jhinu, trek down to the river and the walk in the next side of the hill for about 3 hours to reach beautiful village of Landruk. Walk another 2 hours after lunch to Tolka and overnight stay.

Day 13

Trek to Dhampus

Trek to Dhampus via Deaurali, Pothana. The first part till Deurali is steep uphill and then downhill to Dhampus. Dhampus is the famous village for beautiful mountain view near Pokhara.

Day 14

Trek to Phedi and Drive to Pokhara

Trek down to Phedi in and then drive back to Pokhara. Enjoy the day in Pokhara.

Day 15

Drive back to Kathmandu

In the morning, drive back to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day in shopping and touring around on your own.

Day 16

Departure

Transfer to the airport for the departure flight to your home or other destination.
